Attendees of this two-and-a-half-day workshop are expected to contribute to the current understanding of pathologies and models available for studying pulmonary injuries. The utilities of these models in research and development of therapeutics against inhalation chemical toxicities will be discussed. Most importantly, the workshop will address current knowledge gaps to refine the development of medical countermeasures to prevent and treat lung damage after exposure to pulmonary toxicants, such as chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals.
